Working through past papers is extremely beneficial and enables students to become more familiar with the mark schemes and what is expected of them.
Past Paper Guidelines
When you are looking at the papers, here's a brief guide to how they are labelled.
0680 is the number of the course - the exam code.
The next letter will be
m - Feb/March exam
s - May/June exam
w - Oct/Nov exam
qp means question paper
ms means mark scheme
er means the examiner's report (this can be useful to see how student's did overall)
finally, the number on the end is 11, 12, 13, 21, 22, 23 and for older papers 41, 42, 43.
The tens digit relates to the paper numbers 11, 12, 13 are all Paper 1s; 21, 22, 23 are all paper 2s and 41, 42, 43 are all Paper 4s (these stopped in 2019). The unit digit relates to the time zones.
There are now 2 papers. In the UK we do 11 and 21, BUT all the papers are useful for practise.
One final note - the spec did change slightly in 2017 but there were no major changes.
